Canada's Immigration Minister has changed - Marc Miller has been appointed as the New Minister taking over from Sean Fraser
Prime Minister of Canada has reshuffled his cabinet on 27th July 2023 and Marc Miller has been appointed as the new Immigration Minister of Canada. He is a Member of Parliament from Quebec and previously served as the Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations, where he worked to support the self-determination of Canada’s Indigenous peoples.
Sean Fraser, the former Immigration Minister, has been appointed as the Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities.
Before starting his career in politics, Minister Marc Miller was a practicing lawyer specializing in mergers and acquisitions with an emphasis on international and commercial law, he will likely brought valuable expertise to his role as a Member of Parliament and now as Canada’s Immigration Minister.
His experience as an infantry soldier in the Canadian Armed Forces also likely provided him with unique insights and a strong understanding of various aspects of national security and defense, which can be beneficial in his current ministerial position.
