Here are the latest Express Entry Draw results
The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the latest Express Entry draw on October 24. A total of 1548 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued to candidates for the Provincial Nominee Program candidates. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) was 776.
This draw saw a lesser number of invites as compared to the previous draw on October 10. The CRS score saw a jump as PNP draw candidates score an extra 600 points for their provincial nomination.
Which program was targeted for this draw?
This Express Entry round was a ‘PNP’ candidates only draw. Provinces and territories (PTs) that operate a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) can nominate candidates through the Express Entry pool. Candidates who have a PT nomination receive an additional 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which is usually sufficient to trigger an invitation to apply (ITA) at the next round of invitations. PTs have direct access to the Express Entry pool through a dedicated portal that allows them to view and nominate candidates in the pool.
A look at recent Express Entry results
The previous Express Entry draw was held on October 10. A total of 3,725 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued to candidates in the ‘no program specified’ Express Entry draw. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) was 500. Before that, the previous Express Entry draw was held on September 26. A total of 3000 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued to candidates in the ‘no program specified’ Express Entry draw. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) was 504.
Previously, a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) only Express Entry draw was held in May 2023 and comparatively, the CRS cut off score has increased this time by 85 points.

Explaining Express Entry
Express Entry is a competitive immigration system implemented by the Government of Canada to manage and process applications for permanent residency from skilled foreign workers. It aims to attract and select highly qualified individuals who have the potential to contribute to Canada’s economy and society.
The first-ever category-based draw was held on June 28 this year and before that candidates were assessed based on their human capital factors including work experience, professional fields, language skills, education, and age. They were then ranked using an assigned CRS score. After each draw, candidates with the highest CRS scores (according to the cut-off) are issued ITAs, allowing them to apply for permanent residency.
To align with labor market needs and promote the French language, IRCC introduced new category-based selection criteria on May 31. The six new categories include:
- Healthcare
- STEM professions
- Trades
- Transport
- Agriculture and agri-food
- French-language proficiency
